AM:  77F, 90%.  6 @ 7:59 AP.  Workers were out there on my coveted neighborhood construction trails.  Toiling away, and besmirching the sanctity of Labor Day!

Anyway.. I took the day off running yesterday, and got 8+ hours of sleep both of the last 2 nights.  I feel pretty rested.  The work week will reverse all of this, of course, but at least I can start off on the right foot.  No booze in a month either (that's impressive for me).

PM:  96F.  4 miles, some with daughter #1 and some with the dog.  Ran around sunset which made it feel pretty decent.

Nice job Joe- Rest is huge. I think we all do not get enough. Congrats on going without! Hope you rewarded yourself with extra Labor Day food!

Your entry reminded me of my sad youth -- my parents always made us labor on labor day, we never got the day off. Sleep is definitely important, mainly for recovery purposes; I don't recover much during the day, unless I take a nap. But I usually recover overnight if I get a full night of rest.

Cool Blog!!! I only run about 1 mile a day! So You run more than me.

Hope you had a happy Labor Day!!!

So many impressive things to comment on. I think running 4 miles in 96F with likely 90% and it felt "pretty decent" is downright crazy but cool. Not drinking for a month: solidly cool. And double 8 hour sleep nights, crazy cool. Agreed, fantastic weekend.

96 didn't feel too bad... because it was at sunset.
