PM:  95F.  4 @ 8:23 AP.  Sticker burr season is here, adding a degree of difficulty to my soft-surface running attempts.

Beautiful, really.  If you listen closely, you can hear Mother Nature whispering, "Stay the &@$! away from me."

Fortunately I can take my shoes off without untying them.  My plan is to pay one of my kids to take them off.  What is a fair price per burr?

Holy moisture-laden thick air Batman. Way to swim through it.

From allie on Thu, Jul 23, 2015 at 19:10:45 from 24.99.46.55

LOL!

i would do it for one packet of fun dip per burr.

From Jon on Thu, Jul 23, 2015 at 19:16:22 from 107.203.52.135

I did a run once where there were burrs like that plus slightly less poky ones, but at waist height. I kept having to stop every 5 minutes or so to dig a couple out from my shorts liner, even the inside. You can't run far with one of those puppies inside the shorts. Youch.

Thanks Russ - would you believe it's the dry season?

Allie - I got a taker (my youngest) at 5 cents/burr. I was expecting to pay a buck or two, but it came out to $3.30.

Jon - ouch. None in my shorts, thankfully. I did have to stop a few times to pluck them from my socks. Returned to pavement after that.

$1 per burr. And that's low balling.

From Bec on Thu, Jul 23, 2015 at 22:52:38 from 98.202.123.11

I hate those Texas horrible stickers! When I pull them off of my shoes they lodge under my skin and it feels like glass! They make me want to cry and throw things!

From Tom Slick on Fri, Jul 24, 2015 at 10:08:22 from 50.8.100.37

Those stickers look like bullhead stickers on steroids...you all otta start doing some rain dances and get back to running on the blacktop.

From I Just Run on Fri, Jul 24, 2015 at 14:33:30 from 108.178.73.170

Just burn the shoes!

From SlowJoe on Fri, Jul 24, 2015 at 16:51:00 from 45.18.50.53

TomK - I can buy a new pair of shoes for those prices....outrageous!

Bec - soon, your daughter will be old enough to pick them off for you too. In Texas, child labor laws end at age 2.

Slick - rain dances...that's what I've been forgetting!

IJR - shoe burning can't take place until at least 1000 miles - part of the rain dance ritual.
