AM:  70F, 91%.  13 miles.  I've missed/failed so many workouts in this 5k block, that I wasn't sure what kind to do today...so I did the pu pu platter - a little of everything.  First about an hour of easy running, then hit the track:

1600 in 5:53

1200 in 4:16 (5:43/mile pace)

2 x 800 (2:46, 2:44)

2 x 400 (75, 76)

2 x 200 (33, 33)

Recovery was a 400 after each rep, except after the 400s and 200s (200 recoveries there).  Also the second 400 and the second 200 had a few extra meters in them - 2 ladies showed up toward the end of my workout and decided they would own lanes 1 and 2...and they looked like they could easily beat me up so I just went around them.

Glad to get in another solid weeekend workout.  I wish I could run like this during the week, but it has been pretty stressful lately and it's pretty much all I can do to just get in a little exhausted slogging.  Fortunately I should be able to finally just lay around today, and after Monday, the work week looks lighter as well.  So hopefully I can get the mileage and sleep levels back up.

PM:  90F.  4 @ 8:46 AP.  Sunset with the mutt.

Confidence builder at the track. Solid. And I mean that. No pu pu.

Strong paces there, Joe. Really getting it down there as you got going.

Nice running...miles + speed. You got it all!

That's a nice pu pu platter.

If you could just arrange Tuesdays and Thursdays off from work during the week, you'd be all set!

great workout. we would make good workout buddies right now. i run with ~8 girls + another 100 or so randoms on the oval and somehow i still manage to end up alone (at the very back...to be clear).

i worked at a chinese restaurant in high school, and there was one night i had to fill in for one of the servers. i couldn't make it past pu pu platter when someone asked about it on the menu, so they returned me to the back where i belong.

i'll try to take my foot out of my mouth now -- these are 16:XX girls. forgive me for the unintended rudeness of that comment. i mostly just wanted to say that it would be nice to have someone around who runs my same pace -- and your paces are in the perfect range to pull me along (esp the 200s, as i can't break 34!).

just forget everything except the part about pu.

LOL!

Very interesting (and hilarious) about the Chinese restaurant...I have a lot of questions for you about Chinese food but I'll save them for another day.

I wish I actually could join your workout group and make you the second slowest person there. Unfortunately I think what would happen, more often than not, is I'd just convince you it was too hard, and we should go run 8:30 pace in the grass instead. So that MIGHT be counterproductive to some of your goals.
