AM:  63F, 95%.  6 @ 8:26 AP.  I'm pretending the race Saturday never happened.  My performance kind of defies explanation...it wasn't 120 degrees outside, I wasn't recovering from the Ebola virus, etc.  My fastest single mile the entire race was still slower than my average PR pace, and there were some downhill miles.  Yet I'm in better shape now?

These aren't the droids you're looking for.  Move along.

Don't dwell on it man. That was obviously not a reflection of your fitness. Not sure exactly what happened, but I'm fairly certain you could probably go out tomorrow and run a lot faster than that (not that I'm recommending you do that!).

Races like that just happen sometime. I have been there, done that, a few times. It's a fluke...don't dwell on it!

I like your plan of just pretending it didn't happen. No sense dwelling on it.

Don't you have a more important race this weekend? A re-match with yellow singlet and shorty shorts guy? You were holding back for this, obviously.

I think it is good to closely analyze bad races, but sometimes it is best just to shrug. I should take my owe advice. I am still haunted by Boston 2014.

Onward and upward!

Thanks all. Tom - yes, that's a big one for me...Must vanquish coworkers...

I guarantee it means nothing. I got my first BQ in a revenge race one month after running a 5:11. Most likely result is that your next one is going to be in the stratosphere.
