AM: 5 on the TM at work; was going to do 10 outside this morning but my truck (which I only drive about once a month) broke down on the way this morning, so today will have to be a TM double.  I've had that truck for 12 years, bought it right after I graduated from college, but the ol' girl is past her prime and seems to cost money every time I decide to drive it...

PM: 4 in the afternoon on the TM at work.  Would have been easy to blow off running today, but glad I put in the miles; this make-it-happen attitude came easy last year but not so much this past year.

I told the guys at the mechanic's I was going to donate the truck to charity and there was some interest, so I'll probably sell it to one of them at a deeply discounted rate (does that count as charity?)  They are putting their names in a hat in the morning to see who gets to buy it...guess my price was a little too low!  Anyway, I'll miss the truck....went to go clean it out today.  There was actually an old engagement photo in there from 12+ years ago that I'd kept in there.  Danielle and I look like little kids.

Just park her in the driveway, lift her up on some blocks, and leave her there to admire! Your neighbors will enjoy the view too! :-)

IJR - why didn't I think of that?!

allie - thank you for your pity

Joe, it's difficult getting rid of something after having it for so long, isn't it? I had a 1978 Dodge Ramcharger that I bought 1991, a few months before I met my wife. It died about 8 years ago, so I had it parked on my driveway since then, but last year the city didn't like that I had an unregistered vehicle on my property. Since I had no funds to fix it, I donated it to charity. I still miss it! But I'd sure hate to fill up that 35 gallon gas tank every week.

^this is how i feel about my jeep. i miss it so greatly that my eyes fill with tears every time i see one. yet i always complained about gas money and sick bay costs. so much lovehate. but definitely the greatest car i ever had/will ever have (until i get my retirement firebird).

my pity was sincere. :)

Allie, I remember seeing you driving your jeep through the field near the start of the first layton marathon/5k.

I went through the same thing last year. Sorry, man. 12 years holds a lot of memories.

Joe, unless you have aged from the photograph of that serious kickdown with the 15-year-old in the Houston half, you don't look a day over 25.
