80F, 90%.  8 @ 8:34 AP.  I did these miles on the beach, felt pretty good!  That was my last run here, we're headed back to SA this morning.

On a sad note, my last pair of Kinvara 1's is on its way to the Corpus Christi dump.  They are riddled with holes, waterlogged, sandlogged, sweatlogged and probably other kinds of logged I don't even know about. Thanks for the 1220 miles and RIP.

Alright, time to start cleaning up the beach condo a little so they don't think we're complete savages.

************

On our way out we skipped out on all the seafood places and went to the largest Whataburger in the world ("Whataburger by the Bay").  There is too much redneck in both of our bloodlines to pass that up.  We drove by 7 or 8 other Whataburgers to get to this one.

Most of you probably don't even know what Whataburger is, which means your life is incomplete.

RIP Kinvaras.

I like that you keep posting pics. It's feeling kinda facebookey up in here.

Your sand must be hard packed. I get no joy from beach running. They have kids beach runs every week over the summer. I still haven't taken my kids to one of those.

There was a pretty nice hard-packed stripe of beach, so it was pretty easy.

I found a more efficient way to get pictures in (email straight to photobucket, get link in return email) where it was more of a hassle for me in the past. Probably because I figure technology stuff out years later than most people.

The blog pretty much is my Facebook - I have a FB account but don't really ever log on.

that a-frame...it just doesn't get any better. my mom worked at a whataburger in high school and she taught me all about its coolness and deliciousness. she's never taken me to one though -- what's that about?

the kinvaras have gone to a better place. the CC dump is one of the best in the nation.

From Jason D on Thu, Jul 09, 2015 at 20:09:14 from 68.80.27.222

I've heard of it. One of my colleagues is from Texas and he speaks of it as some do of Jesus (or pretty close).

RIP, Kinvaras! You can't ask much more of a shoe. If I get 700+ they go in the secret part of the cemetery that only I know about. It's where all good shoes go to die. (Actually, I have retired MANY shoes, but I have yet to get rid of them).

Never had it, but I always trust a runner about food! Especially burgers :)

From SlowJoe on Fri, Jul 10, 2015 at 16:56:13 from 45.18.50.53

Allie - that's ok - you are cool by association if your mom worked there as a kid. I put some holey socks in the kinvaras to accompany them to the dump so they could suffocate under a mountain of garbage together.

Jason - good stuff. you never know when you'll need a good, completely worn out pair of shoes!

Dan - I ordered one for you today and put it in the mail. Should arrive in OH in 6-8 weeks.

Behold, a vision of beauty and majesty. I do enjoy a good Whataburger from time to time. Remember KP? She had never been to Jack in the Box until I took her. Good times. Sigh.

From SlowJoe on Fri, Jul 10, 2015 at 18:09:42 from 45.18.50.53

Wow, I figured Jack(s?) in the Boxes'es were everywhere. Although I usually only go there in a food emergency.

Apparently not in Alabama.

I'll have that song stuck in my head for the rest of the day now. :(
