57F, 6:54 AP.  Still great running weather for mid-May.  Yesterday broke the record low for San Antonio by 5 degrees so I guess it would be a little greedy of me to expect that too often.

Today was an 8 mile aerobic tempo.  I wanted to run it around MP, but I was feeling good and there really wasn't any reason to hold back with my next workout 4 days away.  So I did 5 easy followed by 8 @ 6:30 AP:  (6:45, 6:38, 6:36, 6:35, 6:32, 6:27, 6:21, 6:09).  Perfect progressive effort.  Not just aerobic by the end anymore, the last mile I was pretty close to max effort.  But I know I won't be able to throw down these paces this summer so took advantage while I still could.

There's probably no question now that I'm fully recovered from Boston.  Again, probably the easiest, fastest recovery I've had from a full marathon.  2 really good workouts this week - I'm hoping I can stay on a roll as it heats up...

That is really good stuff, Joe. Keep it going!

Nice job Joe. Progressing like that mimics the effort profile of racing really closely. It's good to crank it on back end of the AT runs once in a while.

62+ Nice miles this week, and you still have Saturday to go. What is your next challenge?

Wow.... great run man!

Thanks all.

Slick - short races this summer... Get a 5k PR, and get as close as I can to a 5-minute mile. Then back to the long stuff later.

Joe has lots of "battles" coming up. I fear these might actually be warrior dashes but I'm not sure.

From SlowJoe on Fri, May 16, 2014 at 14:49:19 from 168.215.171.129

Don't jump to conclusions Jake. They're actually paintball horseback riding warrior dashes.

We hit an new record low last night, too. Crazy that we're seeing this cold of weather in May. Good luck acclimating to the heat. I'm not quite looking forward to it. Great workout.

Strong running. I like the term "aerobic builder" for the simple reason that sometimes if you are feeling good you can thrown down a cheeky fast mile late in the tempo. You can also start around MP and move to steady state pace (6:09 is obviously faster, but it shows fitness).
