42F, 7:13 AP.  I did a little 4 x 1/2 mile on the way back.  Each repeat I would imagine I was running a half marathon and didn't look at my watch.  Paces ranged from 6:10 - 6:24.  PR pace is 6:25 and the goal is to get a PR so I'm thinking start out around 6:20, try to come through the first 10k in ~39:30 and feel it out from there.  I really am pretty unsure of how it'll go.  My short track stuff has been awesome, faster than ever, but mileage has been low for an extended period and I haven't exactly been crushing long tempos.  I'm almost more curious than anything, it's kind of a cool experiment.

That's right, Joe. Visualize it.

Good plan - looking fwd to reading about the magic...

I see a different kind of fitness for you this time. When was the last time you hit an 8-mile tempo at 6:33 pace? Or 800s as fast as you have?

It's possible to succeed in different ways. One of my training buddies is a 1:13 half guy after 4 years and he runs maybe 30-40 miles a week. His "easy" pace is faster than anyone on the blog would run, however.

I like the plan. Find a straggler in that last 1-1.5 miles and put a target on their back and smoke em.

Thanks all. I definitely think I am set up well for a PR. While I may have had better endurance and long tempos before Boston, I never raced a HM with that fitness, and I've definitely never (ever) crushed 400s, 800s and 1600s like I have in this cycle. It should be a good one.

I'm really excited to see what you do, too. Jason's last sentence got me kind of pumped to race myself..

I think you are going to destroy that half. Half marathon fitness really is more speed than endurance geared than the marathon. I'm excited to see!!
