40F, N 17-27 mph.  7:47 AP.  First time I've ever really felt the wind blow a bit here in the morning.  I'm still pretty sheltered on the trail I always run on.  700 miles on the fastwitch and no signs of them getting too old - I bet they will last to at least a thousand miles.

Finally got around to planning out from here until Boston.  Not the mileage of the previous Boston buildup, but at least the same level of quality, and at a mileage I should be able to handle while still nailing workouts.

Any thoughts?

I think all those colorful numbers looks like the SHIZZLE!

Nothing looks like the shizzle!

Looks good to me Joe. I've never really done a structured buildup yet. I plan on staring at this a bit and maybe going that direction for my May race. I think the weekly mileage, like you said, allows you to hit your workouts. Tear it up!

You've got everything you need there. Good mix of workout, with an emphasis on the longer stuff as you get closer to the marathon. Nail those long runs and its OK if the overall mileage is a little bit lower.

Great plan! I need to do something like this to get ready!

My thought is that it looks HARD (for me) but not for your! :-) I don't think I'll post my training schedule as I'd be a little intimidated.

You're going to run great in Boston...that's if the weather cooperates this year.

One scheduled day off from December 30 - April 21? I would have a hard time with that kind of streak.

From SlowJoe on Fri, Jan 03, 2014 at 04:47:37 from 66.69.93.8

Tom - there will probably be unscheduled days off and unforeseen adjustments I have to make, so I start by filling it all out and going from there. Although last year, I did make it from January to April without skipping a day...

From Tom K on Fri, Jan 03, 2014 at 08:53:37 from 174.58.4.250

I kind of figured there would be some give and take. Making that kind of commitment is likely a little easier for someone who has already done that streak last year. Your mid week runs of 10-16 miles - Are they split into two runs?

From SlowJoe on Fri, Jan 03, 2014 at 09:02:21 from 168.215.171.129

Nope, everything is a single this time around except for 2 days, mar 6th and apr 3rd (italicized..didn't mention that). The hope is that it'll give me room to add more easy pm runs in case I miss mileage elsewhere.
