40F, SW 14 mph.  6:51 AP.  Today was 17 @ steady-state pace.  This is the only run of this type in the specific phase.  I didn't bother to stick to any pace in particular, just kept a nice moderate aerobic effort and let the wind and hills dictate the pace.  It was downhill going out with a headwind, then uphill coming back home with a tailwind.

Splits were 7:09, 7:05, 6:58, 6:53, 6:54, 6:49, 6:50, 7:03, 6:52, 6:59, 6:54, 6:56, 6:48, 6:47, 6:43, 6:32, 6:22.

I got bored with the pace and picked it up a little on the last 3 or 4 miles going uphill back home and finished with a nice progressive effort on some of the tougher hills.

I like the steady state run and will pick it up again after Boston.  It's enjoyable because you're not working too hard, but it feels like you're actually running.  For now I need to concentrate on GMP though.

Really good, especially being able to finish it so strong.

Solid, Joe. There's no way you don't obliterate your Marathon PR this Spring! (weather dependent)

Awesome finish to a great run Joe!

Stellar run Joe. Great to see that's a very sustainable pace for you.

when 6:51 pace is steady, you are officially in awesome shape!

Thanks all. Definitely don't feel like a "3-hour guy" anymore, just need the chance to prove it!

Nice run Joe. I loved the, '...don't feel like a "3-hour guy" anymore' comment.

Another solid run. Keep it up. Everything is looking good for Boston.

Nice "steady-state"! There's no way you're a "3-Hour Guy" anymore!

Good run. Steady state is a little slower than MP, I take it?

From SlowJoe on Mon, Feb 11, 2013 at 12:12:02 from 155.219.241.10

Flat - yeah, MP + 20-30 seconds or so. Got a little fast at the end but it's fun to enjoy new fitness gains sometimes.
