A gentle 5 round Richmond Park. This calf is still niggling but again subsides after 15 minutes or so (or perhaps all my other pains catch up).

Should I: ice it? massage it? strap it? leave it? I've never had this kind of problem. I'm also using my old running shoes when I run from work in the week, and i think this might be exacerbated by their lack of cushion (they have done 600m+)

still hoping it will ease of its own accord, but have 4 & 12 to do over the weekend so we will see.

In my experience, calf strains go away in a few days (up to 7-10 days) if I just run easy and stop doing anything speedy. You may benefit from massage and definitely new shoes. 600+ miles is too much. Good luck, and I hope your calf feels better soon!

did my 4 and 12 (Sunday) - the strain was fine on the 12 and is only slightly there this morning (monday) so I'm hoping as the load is light between now and race day that it will disappear - thanks!
