13 miles in and around Central Park this afternoon. When I got to my hotel room I was so tired that I didn't know if even an easy run was a possibility let alone a fartlek workout. But, I didn't have much time to think about it if i wanted to make it back before dark.
So I ran the 1 mile from my hotel to the Park and after another mile or so of warmup jumped into a 5x4mins hard and 2 mins light repeat. Of course Central Park is quite hilly so no rep was comparable to another but it was nice running hard again in Central Park.
I was quite pleased with how things went. Other than being pretty dehydrated, everything went fine espeically considering was working off of four hours sleep and a sleepless 5+ hour plane ride. |
