Pretty brutal workout today. It was essentially a threshold run with hills thrown in for good measure. The idea was run 1/2 flat at around 5:15 pace then roll into a decent uphill grade for 3:30 at the same effort followed by 2:00 of flat running at the threshold pace followed by 3:30 more uphill at the same effort ending with 2:00 at threshold on flat. Then repeat it one more time after a 5-6 minute jog.
I haven't dared check what my pace was up the hills but by the second rep I felt like I was standing still. It's amazing how much extra effort hills take. |
