Had a nice 3 mile run/hike to the top of Red Butte Peak above the University of Utah. The weather was perfect, although it did start to drizzle near the summit. My partner almost stepped on a rattlesnake on the way down. This is a fun and adventurous hike with 1,500 feet of elevation gain.

Great morning outing. Welcome to the blog. For other people reading this, scott and I regularly do peaks together. We have been peak-bagging together for almost 7 years now.

He wants to run a half marathon this fall. Shouldn't have too much of a problem with that.

Welcome Scott.

I was just reading this entry and thinking, Jun needs to know about Scott, but then I read the comments. You guys are awesome with your peak bagging/running!

Welcome to the blog Scott!

I like the rattlesnake part.

I hear rattlesnakes taste like chicken. FYI

Thanks for all of the comments everyone. Enoch, I thought about skinning it and using the skin as a canteen, but I'm not hardcore like Bear Grylls.

The more I learn about jun and his buddies the more I like them... :)

They sound like the Gadiantons. Always coming down out of the mountains to pillage...
