Personal:

I am married to Nathan Long and have two cute boys. I enjoy being a mom but running keeps me sane.=) Running is my passion and always will be. I was asked by a friend what I was training for and I said to be skinny. She looked at me (as we just finished 3 hard one mile repeats after I just got done having two crowns put in) and said, "No one trains that hard to be skinny." I said, "I do." To me working out is fun! I love pushing my body to new limits. I think if I had to do just mileage I would go crazy!

Getting sick was a huge bummer to my training and racing but what is done is done. Thanks everyone for the words of encouragment leading into the race it truly helps. I am excited to be healthy and jumping on the band wagon again. Even though I am babysitting 3 kids this week and working I plan on getting mileage back up and kicking it into gear for Ogden Marathon!

Ran 9.5 miles easy with Missy and Alydia half on really icy trails. No my cup of tea but I enjoyed their company so it was worth it.

Probably my first workout I have ever dropped out of. Amy was smart to wait an extra day but I was feeling pretty good so I thought I take advantage of having my friend babysit for me. I strted out the workout with Angie doing 600m at 80 pace. The first one was a wake up call to the fact that its been a while since I have done really fast pace and that breathing in freezing cold air doesn't mix. Here is what happened: 1:58, 1:57, 2:00, 2;02, 2:01, 2:01, 77-400m. So I never like to end slower than I started and I can say each one felt like a mile. But hopefully with some rest my next one will be better. Thinking I will not double this week since I am feeling extremely unmotivated to run.

10 miles on the TM during naptime. Kept it at 8.5mph so I can recover. Felt really good the wholetime.
