10 miles, 7:47 pace. The first 8 miles were well under 7:45 pace (the slowest coach wants us to go) around 7:30, the last 2 were just super slow cause it was uphill. Coach wants us to brush off the bad race on Saturday and move on, one bad race doesn't define how fast we are. Mostly he wants me to keep my confidence up, it definitely dropped after the race but I just need to remember that I am in great shape and can kill it in another race. Hopefully my cold is on its way out by this weekend! The doctor isn't coming until tomorrow so my blood won't be tested until then, I'm just grateful I can monitor it cause in high school I only got it tested like twice haha :)

Two miles later before weights.

After warmups we ran to Bicentennial the short way and did 8x30 second pickups. Then we finished the lap we were on and ran back to the track. Instead of finishing up miles I went to the training room and had my Achilles rubbed out and iced. Was going to finish up later but I crashed big time after class then had to go to study hall and had a ton of homework.

In the morning I did 6 with the earlier group (since the boys are at Notre Dame we are supposed to do our own thing this weekend). Weights were super hard today, afterwards I did 2 miles with Angie and Maggie. Both runs ended up being 7:31 average.

I set out to do 12 miles today, but then it got dark... The first 4ish were with Angie and Maggie, then when they broke off it was getting dark. For some reason I had in my mind that it didn't get dark until 9, but then I realized that's only true in the summer. Anyway, at one point it was so dark I couldn't see what was 3 feet in front of me... sketchiest run of my life. And I thought running in the dark in Salt Lake was bad. NEVER AGAIN. Oh I almost had a season ender cause I couldn't see the gigantic pothole. Thank goodness I didn't break my ankle. Other than the dark it was a good run, I think I'm starting to get my energy back. I wasn't very fatigued, which is improvement! Ah I keep thinking about Griak and how awful I felt... I just need to brush it off like coach said. I think as I start to feel more energized I can forget about it, I just haven't really had any energy until today haha. Oh and I got my blood tested today too, results should be in at the beginning of next week.

Oh! I almost forgot... we leave for Vegas tomorrow! I keep forgetting we have a meet this weekend. It's been odd not having organized practice. I'm starting to get pumped for it, it's a 5k! I'm excited to see what I can run.

In the morning did a 2 mile shakeout. Ankle was bothersome.

Pre-meet when we got to the course, ran through the course once and then did a 1000. It may have been a little long but ah well, 3:47. I was a bit lethargic but maybe it's from the car ride. On the 1000 I felt awful until like 400 into it. Then I felt good the last 400 but by then I was so far behind. Good thing its just pre meet! Then did starts. My ankle hurt a bit during the course, particularly when it was uneven and I moved it wrong. On all the starts I had to start slow cause it hurt to push off. Then did a mile cool down. Hailey took a look at my ankle again, massaged it out and found that there's actually a huge knot so its not just tightness. Which is a relief cause she was thinking it was turning into tendonitis. I can live with knots! But apparently her massaging was "light". It did not feel light at all, can't wait to feel what deep is.

Ok, other than that I feel alright, better than I did before Griak but still not my best. But I'm going to race hard tomorrow and keep positive, I will do the best I can possibly do right now!

1 mile shakeout before heading to the course. Did 1.5 warmup and warmups and starts. I decided that today I was going to try holding back and stick with our pack. I got out slow cause my ankle was buggin, but that put me with the pack so its whatevs. About a mile into it my ankle stopped hurting. Coach timed our first 2k, mine was 7:17. He also timed our last 800, he wanted us to get sub 3:00 but I got 3:01. But its still improvement at Riverside my last 800 was 3:11 haha. I felt like even though I was pushing I just didn't have the energy needed. Coach thinks its either something physical or maybe I'm just not emotionally there. I have been stressed out lately so that is sensible. I guess we'll find out which one it is next week. I'm just frustrated, I want to be rocking it like I did at the road race. But coach says my time will come so I'll just try to stay positive. I suppose I am getting faster! Last year at this time I was hitting about 19:30s I think so at least I'm already super close to breaking 19:00. Like less than a second close. Dang. 3 miles cool down.

Once back in cedar Jenny and I did 4.25
