Today was our hard day, we did 50%/80%. It was much better than the pond loop that's for sure! For the 50% we ran 3 laps on the soccer fields and then 80% was on the track. It honestly wasn't even bad. I actually really liked it! Basically it's like continuous mile repeats with a mile recovery at a faster pace. I didn't feel great, but tried my best to stick with the pack. It was a larger pack on the first one, I hit 6:00-6:01. Maggie and Ashley were pushing it up front and I felt like I could've gone with them but decided to be smarter and stay with the pack like coach wanted. On the second one I moved up next to Angie and I guess everyone else fell off or something. Maggie and Ashley still were up ahead. 5:58 for that one. Last one Angie took off and I was stupid enough not to go with her. This was when I started to feel sick and got winded pretty quick, a change from the other ones where my breathing was even and it didn't even feel that hard. I could feel myself slipping and tried to push harder, yet despite that I still got slower each lap. I now really like pack running. 6:08 for that one. We did a mile warmup and mile cool down. And warmups and form mile, speaking of which we do everyday still I just don't think we're supposed to count it as mileage so I stopped. HR 52 |
