Triathlons are my New sport and I LOVE IT

Recent last few years  as I havent done much since I was 16/17yrs, on and off injuries, going out with Friends started. Operations on injuries- compartment syndrome front of the shin had small operation to release the pressure on the fascia.

Oct 2007.  Did the great north run.  ( I was in the elite ladies race, against Kara Goucher and Paula Radcliffe, Im sure u Americans will recall that race).

I was just in on my previous times from the Bath Half Marathon. I ran it as best as I could off my training & circumstances...

Decided to do my 1st Marathon with London looming in the following April I was in the ladies Elite race again.  So the training was on.  I realise now I didnt give my body enough time to recover as it did break down in the last 5 weeks of my training. Injury bound, with calf and hamstring problems I raced!

London Marathon, April 08 (Injury calf issues) 1st marathon  3hrs.12mins .30 secs

Dublin Marathon  Oct 08  3hrs.01mins.13  undulating and 1 toilet stuck/stop (LOL)

Bath Half 2007    1.26.35 hrs

Wilmslow half marathon english champs    1.25.39

18th lady  (With piriformis injury ).

Liverpool 10k 2008 Oct 37.42mins midst marathon training

Wirral 5k 2009 17.41mins off the back off marathon week

Track 3000ms 10.45mins  hmmm I ran this to get points for my club so I just did tactical and ran on 1st lady shoulder and sprinted at the end !

As a youngster

County Champion for Xcountry and

High Jump

and 1500ms track.

pbs aged 13 yrs old

800ms 2mins 16secs

1500ms 4mins 48 secs

high jump 1metre 53  (cant do this now) and I never trained for it as a kid, just competed alot for points for my club, usually spend 2 hours highjumping, and skip off to do an 800 or 1500ms race then go back to high jump, Wish I took the running more seriously!

Run on more than several occasions for my County against Ireland county of Dublin.

Top 50 finnisher at 14yrs of age in english nationals Xcountry.

I feel your pain Sam ... I have been using the trigger point ball (a little harder than a tennis ball) on my IT and quads!! It does feel better, at least when you stop ;-).

From missy on Wed, Jan 20, 2010 at 22:11:47 from 71.35.245.110

Sam..I am curious..this "no fuel"..Does it happen you don't get a chance to eat or is this for training purposes to run on low energy? I know this summer I was tweaking my macro's and had a low carb diet..and found I could run just fine..BTW you look quite Glam in your Avitar Photo..Like a 60's pinup. :D

From Kory on Wed, Jan 20, 2010 at 22:13:44 from 134.50.201.14

I hope the ITB gets better. Your doing what you need to do to get it better. I hope the days to come it heals for you.

Im telling you that Glucosamine/Chondroitin pills or liquid help your tendons and muscles. Im talking from my experience I know. I swear I know my body pretty good and can tell when something helps or is just so so. I need to get some core workouts in. Ive said it enough havnt I?

From Samantha Dean-Howard on Thu, Jan 21, 2010 at 05:56:24 from 78.32.130.9

Missy were is this Avatar photo ????

Hey Burt OUCHIE OUCH!

Lyman Thanks I just checked it He he

Bonnie yes it hurts but it works :)

Kory its okay now the itb.... I am going to have another easy run today and maybe session tomorrow:)

Walter I take Glucosomine /Chrondroitin already theyre great arent they, yes get some core work outs in now go do them HUH HE HE HE......

Missy the crazy eating is just to get down to my race weight hopefully before I hit big weeks so I can fuel better for them rather than just fuelling and getting by on just enough.... Just something I am trying so I can eat more when I will be really hammering myself, as in the past I have eaten just enough during the whole of the marathon plan and I do get near race weight for the marathon or other race but I have niggles and problems and injuries if I do it this way and then stay at the race weight maybe I can get through with no injury...... I have started my marathon plan at a lighter weight anyhow so it should be quite easy..... and I am going to fuel for the sessions twice a week and the long run too but just enough fuel so long run I may still hit the wall.

I hope you understand that as I am not sure I do LOL..... kidding...... ideal race weight is 130lbs now I will look scrawny at that for sure so I am going for 134lbs fingers crossed anyway.....probably got about 7lbs to lose I think..... I am going to weigh myself this weekend ooooh not weighed since before xmas ouch :-)

Nice workout Sam! Is it weird that I'm trying to cut down to 135 too? I'm gonna look pretty scrawny at that weight but hopefully I'll run like a beast.

From missy on Thu, Jan 21, 2010 at 21:19:56 from 75.162.123.103

Sam...Your profile picture/avatar..you are pictured in a black shirt with your hair pulled back sitting next to I believe must be your son. You have a classic Glamorous look. :)...OK I just looked up 60's pinup..and maybe that is NOT what I meant..don't google that..some nude ladies..I meant you look very...Classy and Glamorous..NOT the other! O.o

About the Fueling I get it...I want to get to performance weight as well..I feel like I gigantic clydesdale when I run..I want to lean up...about 10 pounds..

VINH...You will always be a beast! :)

OH, one more thing Sam...What is a Niggle? Lol. You crazy brits. ;P
