Triathlons are my New sport and I LOVE IT

Recent last few years  as I havent done much since I was 16/17yrs, on and off injuries, going out with Friends started. Operations on injuries- compartment syndrome front of the shin had small operation to release the pressure on the fascia.

Oct 2007.  Did the great north run.  ( I was in the elite ladies race, against Kara Goucher and Paula Radcliffe, Im sure u Americans will recall that race).

I was just in on my previous times from the Bath Half Marathon. I ran it as best as I could off my training & circumstances...

Decided to do my 1st Marathon with London looming in the following April I was in the ladies Elite race again.  So the training was on.  I realise now I didnt give my body enough time to recover as it did break down in the last 5 weeks of my training. Injury bound, with calf and hamstring problems I raced!

London Marathon, April 08 (Injury calf issues) 1st marathon  3hrs.12mins .30 secs

Dublin Marathon  Oct 08  3hrs.01mins.13  undulating and 1 toilet stuck/stop (LOL)

Bath Half 2007    1.26.35 hrs

Wilmslow half marathon english champs    1.25.39

18th lady  (With piriformis injury ).

Liverpool 10k 2008 Oct 37.42mins midst marathon training

Wirral 5k 2009 17.41mins off the back off marathon week

Track 3000ms 10.45mins  hmmm I ran this to get points for my club so I just did tactical and ran on 1st lady shoulder and sprinted at the end !

As a youngster

County Champion for Xcountry and

High Jump

and 1500ms track.

pbs aged 13 yrs old

800ms 2mins 16secs

1500ms 4mins 48 secs

high jump 1metre 53  (cant do this now) and I never trained for it as a kid, just competed alot for points for my club, usually spend 2 hours highjumping, and skip off to do an 800 or 1500ms race then go back to high jump, Wish I took the running more seriously!

Run on more than several occasions for my County against Ireland county of Dublin.

Top 50 finnisher at 14yrs of age in english nationals Xcountry.

10.5 miles 1hr 22mins 10 secs 7.45 pace, but honestly some miles were 8 min pace and some faster the last mile being 7.15 min mile.... ha ha got some odd looks at this pace which was great!

The gym staff thought I was joking when I said I was running in the snow, and when I went to leave they said you really arent kidding are you, I laughed and said no its fun LOL. Theyre mouths really were wide open ha ha ha

When I re-learned my running technique 4 years ago, one of the big tests was running on ice, you pull your legs up more than push off, this causes fore foot landing, any way I did lots of drills and stuff, and since then Ive always been able to run over slippery surfaces straight on of course, I was nearly at a walk on corners or crossing the roads as they were slipperier (is that a word LOL) no its slipier !

snowy dune howard is my knew name LOL

2ft deep in the places were I ran, mostly 6-12" deep though.

I ran my usual 9 mile route, but I was enjoying running in the snow so much I rang Paul and asked if he could pick dylan up as Im loving it, and I carried on for another 1.5 miles.

When I returned to the gym and got on the xtrainer for a mere 20 mins warm down I kept looking out and considered running again :-)

My hip 1-10 wasnt too bad about a 4, I stretched allot back at the gym.

I went home and Dylan and Paul were having a snow fight so I joined in although I have saved some snow balls for Walter, Burt, Chris M, oh Allie and Nan ha ha ha......

Dylan and I built a snowman that was cool, then I decided to have a snow bath and just sat down in my lycra's and ice'd my butt :-)

Slippy bridges no problem for MOI ;-)

As you can see a cyclist christened the snowy path before me although the snow has filled in most of the trench they made honestly this was over a foot deep but really good fun

:-)

Nice workout Sam! You are hard core! What did you wear on your run? Snowshoes? Parka? =P

GREAT PICS. So would love to run there. I got the same looks when I ran over 3 miles to the gym last week after 8 inches of snow dumped on us here in Utah. They were like "no way" and I can't run that fast without snow. I so love running in the white stuff. Enjoy more.

Benn yeah to the snow bath :0

Vin- Ha ha my usual trainers at first I thought should I get my Walsh's out (fell runner shoes) but nah! lycra leggings, t shirt, then thin long sleeve and a light weight runners waterproof with DO RUNNING on the back large words I love that waterproof, oh and my snuggly, gloves and cap :-)

Julie, I love it too, wish it was here allot more often, but it brings the whole country to a halt were as in the US it doesnt really seem to affect you half as much..... :-)
