I ran for Utah State University for a few years from 1999-2002. I got a little burned out and took a break from running. Now 10 years later, I feel that there is still faster running left to accomplish. I started running again in mid-summer of 2012. I had a short spurt in 2009, but work got in the way.

Personal:
I am married and have a 5 year old little boy and a 2 year old little girl. I graduated from USU in aviation and worked as a pilot for many years. After subsequential furloughs and lay-offs due to the economy, I decided to go back to school. I then graduated from the nursing program at Boise State University. I now fly the University of Utah AirMed (Lifeflight) airplane base in Rock Springs WY.
My legs were feeling good so I thought that I would test them a little. 8 miles in 51:42. It ended up being progressive run. The last two I really pushed it in 5:48, 5:45. I could feel the marathon at the end of the run.
10 miles easy in 1:10:55 from my house to the greenbelt along the golf course loop. My right calf got a little tight. I am guessing that is still from the marathon. Just trying to ease back into training so that I don't get injured.
Short quick workout during lunch today. I didn't have a lot of time today. I did 6 x 800 with 1 min rest in between. I wanted to run them under 2:45 and didn't want to go too hard because the legs are still tired from STG. I just wanted to test the legs out. (2:43, 2:44, 2:44, 2:45.05, 2:43, 2:44).
I was going to try to get a second run in later but I had too much going on today.
An easy 10.1 out and back. I should have gone hard but was debating on racing tomorrow. However, I have now decited not to race tomorrow and will do a longish run with some tempo at the end.
I ran a 7.5 out and back from my house down along the greenbelt and back. The first 10 was at 7:00 pace the I did 5 at MP but it felt more like a LT run. 6:08, 6:02, 6:22 (big 0.5 mile hill) 6:11, & 5:58. I can tell that I have lost fitness form the marathon taper and recovery.
