Personal:

I decided to join to hold myself accountable for my training and because I love learning from others running experiences.  I just started running a little over a year ago and have a lot to learn.  I work fulltime as a Manager of Telecommunications for Intermountain Healthcare and go to school online through Weber State University.  If you want to know more check out my blog: www.runningfortrevor.blogspot.com

I had to be to work early this morning for a meeting and decided to do this workout on the treadmill rather than attempting it in the dark by myself.  Sometimes I'm a baby and the treadmill is a great tool for consistency.

2 mile wu

3 miles @ 6:15 pace + 2 x 1 mile @ 6:07 pace + 1 x 800 @ 5:56 pace.  About 2 min active jogging in between sets.  Cooldown to 10.5.  My confidence in running 1:20 is completely waning today.  Nothing about those 6:07 miles feels comfortable or maintainable for 80 minutes.  But I am coming off of some pretty hard workouts and although the treadmill is a great tool for workouts I never quite feel confident and smooth on it.  I think I just need to stay positive and realize I can't really force too many workouts at this point.  The worst thing I could do is dig myself into a hole and overtrain because I'm trying to build my own confidence.  Thinking out loud too much today!

PM:  3 mile shakeout run, 8:35 pace.

I like this workout. Nothing to worry about here. Your workouts look fine and and sub 1:20 is doable for you...analysis by paralysis...don't do it and just make everything else line up...

okay....now I just read you had run a awesome 10k Saturday....ummmm that is two days ago...no wonder you didn't like 6:07 today...you will when you taper. PRETTY confident for you. Go Rachelle!

Maintainable for 79 minutes (or better), not 80 :) :)

Great way to start the week off Rachelle... I believe in your goal!

Snow Canyon has about 3x more elevation loss as Huntsville that you ran a month ago and is at lower elevation so mid 1:18s would be equivalent to that performance. Your training has been great since then so I bet you could take a shot at 1:17 on the SC course.

Confidence is key! Set your mind on it and don't give up! You always pleasantly surprise yourself in longer races!

Thanks so much everyone! I really appreciate the support.

I believe in my goal too...I think sometimes I just psych myself out.
