Personal:

I decided to join to hold myself accountable for my training and because I love learning from others running experiences.  I just started running a little over a year ago and have a lot to learn.  I work fulltime as a Manager of Telecommunications for Intermountain Healthcare and go to school online through Weber State University.  If you want to know more check out my blog: www.runningfortrevor.blogspot.com

8 miles recovery in Provo canyon with the JJJ's Josse, Janice, & Janae.  No watch.  Surprisingly perfect weather this morning despite the crazy winds all night.  Planks/pushups

I really liked this article in Running Times about training to PR in the marathon.  No matter what level your training at I thought this was a good overall review.  So many take aways from the article but I think the main one is that every element of marathon training serves a purpose and you really can't neglect any of them if you want to improve your time.  Also liked this:

recovery equals success

I've noticed that for me personally I perform much better, feel less burnt out/fatigued, and seem to absorb workouts better when I slow down (way down!) on my recovery days.  I was racing my best (May-July) when I was doing my recovery jogs with my sister at a 8:45-9:30 pace.  I need my sister to move back!

Nice seeing you this morning, in the Dark for a 1/2 second :)

Personally (as a runner) I don't think bikes should even be on that trail, especially the all decked out wanna be's like myself. I justify it because we are usually way early and there aren't a lot of people on the trail but if it were up to me I think we should be on the road. It's the guys I ride with that for some reason insist on going up the trail. So don't worry about taking up the trail.

Funny story, Last year when Justin Park and I were pacing the 1:30 Halloween 1/2 I was dressed up as Lance Armstrong, but running. We were going down the canyon in the Bike lane and a group of cyclist started yelling at me for being in the bike lane. I turned around and told him there were about 5,000 more where I came from :)

Sweet article, and the recovery advice is solid and true.

Funny you post that article today! I really need to re-read it over and over the next couple weeks/months. :)

Sounds like a fun morning!!

Good read but still have no idea how to run....ha ha. I think i followed a schedule twice once from runners world 1995 first marathon 4 days a week plan...then like 2009. I really need a good coach after i get my iron disease figured out.... i am glad u have a lot of time to just take it easy...i remeber your easy days and i can run that pace with u and have been. So nice....ran 10 mm with my sister. Have fun my friend.
