I decided to join to hold myself accountable for my training and because I love learning from others running experiences.  I just started running a little over a year ago and have a lot to learn.  I work fulltime as a Manager of Telecommunications for Intermountain Healthcare and go to school online through Weber State University.  If you want to know more check out my blog: www.runningfortrevor.blogspot.com

The wind woke me up at 4am this morning and I had a hard time falling back to sleep knowing I'd soon be running in it.  I know I'm a baby but I really do dread running in the wind.

15 miles solo.  7 mile warm up and then 6 tempo miles all on the orchard loops.  Tempo miles were 6:29, 6:30, 6:29, 6:25, 6:25, 6:10.  I just did not really have another gear this morning so I held the tempo at 6:30's with the last mile a little faster.  2 mile cooldown.  1:46:30 - no stops, no fuel, no liquids (I should probably work on this!).  The weather was pretty miserable for the first hour but then cleared up a bit and felt more manageable.  I didn't feel great today but I also didn't feel terrible and the 15 miles actually went by really fast.

Good work Rachelle! Solo long runs are so hard for me!

Very impressive Rachelle! Lots of miles and some fast ones by yourself.

WOW! That is an amazing workout Rachelle! Look at you just cruise... So fast.

I hate the wind too. Windy is worse than cold and dark. Way to get out there and show the wind who was the dang boss.

Holy crud! 15 miles in the wind solo is pretty solid, especially at your speedy pace. Nice run.

Sweet tempo, that is killer speed in the wind. You are such a natural deer!

Good miles; good tempo; bad wind. The wind's a killer and that's a good workout given the conditions. Remember, there's no such thing as bad weather only weak runners. That's not my saying, I pinched it off a 2:13 marathoner.

Just catching up on your week. Wind is for sure the worst to run in and you still had a great workout. Those tempo miles, at the end of a longish run, can be tough... especially alone! :)
