Personal:

I decided to join to hold myself accountable for my training and because I love learning from others running experiences.  I just started running a little over a year ago and have a lot to learn.  I work fulltime as a Manager of Telecommunications for Intermountain Healthcare and go to school online through Weber State University.  If you want to know more check out my blog: www.runningfortrevor.blogspot.com

My first ever DNS (did not start)!  Was supposed to run the Utah Fittest State Half Marathon with Rachel and I was excited.  But I had the stomach flu all day Friday and with my injury I was going into it knowing it was a completely foolish thing to do.

Woke up at 4:45am to get ready on Saturday and my energy was at 0% so I texted Rachel :( and went back to bed thinking I'd wake up in time for the 5.  Woke up at 7am and went striaght back to bed clear until 10am. haha I was sick and needed my rest and for once in my life I actually made a smart choice since my leg was no where near ready for 13 miles.

Once I finally woke up I ran 4 miles down to the HS track where my Dad met me with the pups and I did 3 more with Izzy.  7 total.  no energy at all and my leg started bothering me after about 5.  So glad I didn't try to do the race.

we certainly missed you, but i'm so happy you made this decision. it sounds like it was definitely for the best. hope you are feeling better now.

Yeah we decided you were actually the MVP of the day for the DNS - it was a fun morning, but running 13 would have almost certainly done more harm than good for you. I'm sure there will be plenty more running FESTIVALS in the future!

Smart, sensible choices become kind of fun once you get on a roll w/ them :-)

very proud of you and thankful you got the flu as that was the icing on the cake or you would have run it!!! since you are all better now I can say that ; D (from the flu that is)

Sounds like you made the right choice. Hope you are feeling better today!
