Personal:

I decided to join to hold myself accountable for my training and because I love learning from others running experiences.  I just started running a little over a year ago and have a lot to learn.  I work fulltime as a Manager of Telecommunications for Intermountain Healthcare and go to school online through Weber State University.  If you want to know more check out my blog: www.runningfortrevor.blogspot.com

Easy run.  Kept the incline on the treadmill at 2% with the last .25 of the first 6 miles at 4-5%.  I started at 7mph and gradually increased until I finished at 7.6.  Overall pace for the run was 8:17.

Where is everyone running long this weekend?  I woke up to 6 inches of snow in Payson and it looks like its suppose to continue snowing throughout the day.  They literally do not plow the roads at all and I'm trying to figure out what to do for my LR.  Kind of weird that we got more snow on March 1st than we got all winter.

PM: 2.2 miles with the pup on the track.  Slushy, wet mess.  My feet are still frozen. brrr

We are reconsidering the Emigration Canyon plan, it might be too icy for the LR. I don't know what to do. I know Andrea was thinking of running 13-14 miles. I'm going to think about this more today and see if I can come up with a good alternative group meeting spot.

We could try the vacant Mountain View Corridor.

From Jake K on Thu, Mar 01, 2012 at 09:36:26 from 155.100.226.54

You think it will be plowed?

From Chad Robinson on Thu, Mar 01, 2012 at 09:38:33 from 50.73.39.89

I'm not certain. I will ask Kelli. In some cases it is worse if it has been plowed.

From Chad Robinson on Thu, Mar 01, 2012 at 17:05:38 from 50.73.39.89

It doesn't get plowed but if we have a mild Friday afternoon it will probably be good to go. The Jordan River Parkway had no snow or ice on it at noon today (except at the bridges).

Rachelle how long are you planning to run on Saturday? And where? I may be interested if it's not to icy on the roads.

Lily - me and JulieC are going to meet at the movie theatre in Orem at 7:30am and run the Provo Half marathon course. We are planning 18-20 but you could come and park your car somewhere along the route.

You should come. It does not seem nearly as snow packed up in Provo/orem as it is down in our neck of the woods.

From Jake K on Fri, Mar 02, 2012 at 09:52:43 from 155.100.226.54

Hey did you see that the Provo 1/2 marathon course has changed now? Its a downhiller now. Course records are sure to go down this year :-)

From Lily on Fri, Mar 02, 2012 at 09:54:51 from 67.199.178.210

Jake I am friends with the race directors (as are you) Denny told me they changed it. I am stoked!

Rachelle I would love to run part of that with you girls. I will meet you at 7:30 Is it the Wynnsong theatre?

From Rachelle on Fri, Mar 02, 2012 at 09:56:01 from 199.190.170.30

Really Jake that is just lame! It is like the only true flat course in Utah and they have to make it downhill like all the rest. I wonder if it is because of all of the contstruction.

From Jake K on Fri, Mar 02, 2012 at 09:58:31 from 155.100.226.54

Well that full marathon still goes through all the construction, I think.

My guess is that they'll get more people to sign up if its a downhill course.

It was nice to have a half marathon where you didn't have to get there 3 hours early and take a bus to the start.

From Chad Robinson on Fri, Mar 02, 2012 at 10:02:35 from 50.73.39.89

I am bummed that that they "sold out" and changed the course as well. I really dislike the whole bus thing. Plus, I value my times on loop halfs more than any downhill you throw at me.

From Rachelle on Fri, Mar 02, 2012 at 10:07:55 from 199.190.170.30

I agree Chad. I love downhill courses and all but it was nice to have nice honest unaided course.
