Personal:

I decided to join to hold myself accountable for my training and because I love learning from others running experiences.  I just started running a little over a year ago and have a lot to learn.  I work fulltime as a Manager of Telecommunications for Intermountain Healthcare and go to school online through Weber State University.  If you want to know more check out my blog: www.runningfortrevor.blogspot.com

A very much needed 8 miles after maybe 2.5 seconds of sleep and a lot more stress than I'm used to.  I would have called Jen but oh yeah thats right my iphone was lost/stolen last night.  My garmin also died yesterday so no idea on pace for the run.  It was however a lovely morning!

If you've tried to reach me at all I am not ignoring you I just lost (not just misplaced) my cellphone.  Went into target with a phone was there 10 min & left without one.  My brother in law has a tracker on my phone and it was disabled from the phone immediately....meaning most likely I sat my phone down somewhere and it was stolen.  After going through the target garbage can, retracing my steps 100 times, and checking with guest services x 10 I spent the remainder of the night on the phone with my companies IT service desk.  Losing an iphone sucks, losing a company phone that you depend on for work sucks even worse!

Thank you for letting me vent.  I am trying to keep this all in perspective and realize it could always be worse but if you see me I could really, really, really use a hug!

Some good news amongst my anxiety of the past 18 hours:  I have officially been switched from the full marathon 3:35 pacing assignment to the half marathon 1:40 for fargo.  What a huge sigh of relief!  Now I can focus on my own running and getting my feet better instead of stressing about how I 'might' hold up for a full.

I am impressed that despite a stinky chain of events you still made it out for a run! Sorry to hear about your phone. They really need to make a wrist chain for those things!!

If that ever happens again, just show up at my house at 6. I always run at 6 :) Oh man, that seriously sucks losing your phone. Especially a company phone.

I am so sorry, Rachelle. It is amazing how dependent we are on these gadgets. I have two funny things to tell you, hopefully one will make you smile.

First, I bought a tablet (Google Nexus, because I am a Google fan) - my hope was that it would replace my need to carry a laptop when I travel. After 4 months, I still haven't figured out how to do some of the computational things I need to do on it ... but, I have converted to reading books, FRB, and my personal email, on it. So, now I have to bring it along with me on trips. Then I got a corporate phone (iPhone). So, now, instead just having a phone and a laptop when I travel I have: 1 laptop, 2 phones, and one 10" tablet. It is a little over the top. And, I would be freaked to lose any one of these gadgets.

Second, I was having a horrid week at work this week. When describing some of the reasons why the week has sucked to a co-worker, she said, "well, it could be worse - there are many things that haven't happened to you". Upon reflection, I agreed with her. When I was thinking, "yes, I did not get sucked into a sink-hole while stopped at a red-light on my way to work", "I did not get caught in a vortex and thrown into the atmosphere" .... so, I hope you too can find many such events that might help put the loss of your connection to the outside world into perspective :)

Geeze, that stinks! Sorry, Rachelle:( Despite, you ran it out, in an all out (no doubt) world record 8 mile run. I think you did, no one can prove otherwise. Go with that!

Rachelle~

That plain stinks!!! Here is a poem that will bring joy to your life, it is very very very deep:

Roses are red

Bacon is red

Poems are hard

Bacon!! :) :) :)

I read that on someone's facebook a couple of months ago and for some odd reason I think it is hilarious!!!! :) :) :)

Seriously, I hope you have an amazing weekend!!! Go buy a dozen fortune cookies and read about what wonderful things lie in store for you!! (That's gotta work ... it's a scientific thing for sure!!) LUVS!!
