Short-Term Running Goals:
My goal is to continue to enjoy running and maybe get faster a long the way! :)
Long-Term Running Goals:
Run until I am 100 years old!
Personal:
I decided to join to hold myself accountable for my training and because I love learning from others running experiences. I just started running a little over a year ago and have a lot to learn. I work fulltime as a Manager of Telecommunications for Intermountain Healthcare and go to school online through Weber State University. 7.5 mile recovery run on the SF river trail with my sister, Mac, Jen, & Amber. 9:22 pace.
I'm not sure what benefit these junk miles are but I sure do enjoy talking to my sister and my body is loving it. Recovery is good! :)

haha yeah right! They ran circles around me and my sister....:) The nice thing about the river trail is that it just loops and loops and loops so you feel like your always together!

Those paces allow you to mentally heal from hard running while keeping your calves and hamstrings in decent running shape. Keep at it!

Looks like you are having all sorts of fun running around. You got a JRP and a chicken run in, all in one week? Jealous. Hope you're having a good day.

I think the secret to being fast is "junk" miles!!

I have been following your lead the past couple weeks and now my faster miles feel lots easier when I take my easy days actually easy.
That chicken story made me laugh! I can just see you two running around after them... those chickens had no chance with you two speedsters :)

"Junk" miles are just as important, if not more, than fast miles. Nice job.

when I settled down and listened and ran bunches of "junk miles", my pedestrian mid-30s hobbyjogger self broke 3 in the marathon. :) I am a believer!!!
