Personal:

I decided to join to hold myself accountable for my training and because I love learning from others running experiences.  I just started running a little over a year ago and have a lot to learn.  I work fulltime as a Manager of Telecommunications for Intermountain Healthcare and go to school online through Weber State University.  If you want to know more check out my blog: www.runningfortrevor.blogspot.com

5 miles on the Spanish Fork River trail.  Started with my sister and we ran into Lily (thanks Lily for letting us slow you WAY down) and she joined for the rest of the run.  9:24 pace.  Such a fun morning.

I feel pretty great physically, much better than I've ever felt after a marathon.  Achilles/calves are a little tight and I think a good scraping tomorrow will help with that.  My left foot is still completely numb which is just so awkward...maybe that cortisone shot decided to work 2 weeks late?  Anyway I will definitely be hobby jogging/cross-training for awhile and I am really looking forward to it. :)

I could totally run your pace:)

We had a sweet pace today. Felt SO good. I am not even lyin' :)

I think I need some scraping in a few spots too!

Josse - if you are feeling up to it tomorrow you should come with us. I am absolutely not apposed to walking breaks. It really is so much fun and the river trail is beautiful. :)

Lily - totally agree, it was lovely!

Be careful about running on a numb foot...it could cause permanent damage or change your gait resulting in a different injury. Now - right after a great marathon - is the perfect time to get control of the foot problems.

Sounds like perfect recovery! Anytime you want to hobby jog up my way let me know :)

Fun sister time! I gotta admit, it's kinda fun to play around crosstraining. I hope your can feel your foot soon!!

What is this scraping business? It sounds like it works wonders?

"Scraping" or Gua sha is a Chinese massage technique where you use a tool (guashatools.com) to work the muscle or dig out addhesions of any kind. I love it for tendinitis or just cleaning out the lactic acid in the muscles.

This looks awesome! I can NEVER get deep enough foam rolling or using a trigger point ball. I gotta try this! Thanks!

Sounds like a great run! Running is always better with a sister. Scraping sounds painful... I Youtubed it and it just doesn't look pleasant. ;)

Where did you eat our scraping done Rachelle? Great race BTW!! You are such an inspiration!
