Personal:

I decided to join to hold myself accountable for my training and because I love learning from others running experiences.  I just started running a little over a year ago and have a lot to learn.  I work fulltime as a Manager of Telecommunications for Intermountain Healthcare and go to school online through Weber State University.  If you want to know more check out my blog: www.runningfortrevor.blogspot.com

30 min weights - upper body and core

2 x 3 mi tempo workout.  1.5 mi warmup 6:37, 6:31, 6:25, half mile (4 min) recovery 6:33, 6:27, 6:22, 3:05.  I added an extra half mile because I was feeling good and wanted to push myself a bit.  1.5 mi cooldown.  Tough workout for me but I am happy to have it done.  It went really well besides the fact that my feet started bothering me towards the end.  I hate doing these tempos on the treadmill because I feel like it is cheating but the roads in Payson are just too icy for fast running so it was the best option.  The workout was definitely aided by my new discovery of Pandora on my phone.

Headed to St. George this afternoon to pace the St. George half so it should be a fun weekend.  Good luck to everyone racing this weekend!

Good workout Rachelle! Was the 2nd rep actually 3.5 miles, with quite a fast finish? That's solid!

Yes Jake, I was feeling good and decided to push it an extra half mile. Definitely couldn't have held it any longer but it felt good to jump outside of my comfort zone.

That's great - gotta get out of the comfort zone sometimes, and the end of a tempo is a perfect way to do it. Good race simulation!

Great workout, fast paces. 100% with Julie... I think you are going to do very well in Arizona.

I am with you on the roads. I am super good at tripping & falling as it is - add ice and I will for sure break my ankle! See you in a couple hours yahooooooo!!

Wowzer, Go Rachelle!!!

wow! great tempo paces! I, for one, do not think the treadmill is cheating because I can run faster with less effort overground than I can on a treadmill! I think it's HARDER so your workout is awesome!

oh! and Pandora! me and my phone and Pandora are fast friends these days for running!

Very nice workout indeed! So during the recovery, what pace are you running? Walking or jogging?

From Matt Schreiber on Fri, Jan 18, 2013 at 20:55:30 from 66.17.102.185

Awesome workout Rachelle! Those are some great times. Had to feel good to kick that in the butt. :) Have fun pacing St. George!!
