Personal:

I decided to join to hold myself accountable for my training and because I love learning from others running experiences.  I just started running a little over a year ago and have a lot to learn.  I work fulltime as a Manager of Telecommunications for Intermountain Healthcare and go to school online through Weber State University.  If you want to know more check out my blog: www.runningfortrevor.blogspot.com

20 min strength training - planks, pushups, upper body and ITBS rehab.

9 miles on the treadmill in 68 min.  Progressive run starting at 8 min mile and finishing with a 6:53.  Glad I had Lily to talk to for the first 20 minutes.  Thanks Lily!

My IT band is feeling really good and does not seem to be bothering me at all.  The rehab I've been doing really helps and getting it scraped by Josse helps even more....even though I have bruises the length of my IT. ;)  Hopefully it heals up before I put my bikini on to pace the St. George half this weekend.

Unfortunetely my metetarsalgia continues to be a problem when attempting speed + distance.  I may be taking the year off of marathoning unless I figure it out.

Nice running Rachelle, have you tried custom orthotics? They helped my neuroma a ton!!

Thanks Carina! My plan is to see how I handle the IMS Arizona half and if it bothers me there (which I'm afraid it will) I'll schedule an appointment with a podiatrist. I really want to be able to run a marathon this year but if I don't get it figured out it would just be absolutely miserable.

Well good news on the IT band front but the metatarsalgia thing is so frustrating. I felt my feet go numb on Saturday and had a flashback from my last years foot problems. After the half would be a great time to get control over that stupid annoyance!

Yeah just take it a little bit at a time. You've been running consistently and are in good shape so its not like you ever would even need a 5 month buildup for a marathon anyways. You never know how things might turn around... work on getting that foot issue under control as the main thing, and keep running as you can in the meantime. It sounds frustrating... and I'm sure the colder temperatures don't help at all.

Hopefully you are wearing sensible shoes at work! :-)

Nice work this morning Rachelle! Having company is always nice. I hope you figure out those nasty foot problems. You've got a great plan if it doesn't though.

Stupid feet. 2009 and early 2010 was a crazy foot problem time for me. Don't let it go, but don't let it discourage you. I know you won't :)

That was fun to chat this morning. Can you show me what you do for IT rehab? Mine have been kind of acting up!

Nice progression run lady. This foot problem has got to be frustrating! I think a trip to the Dr's is a good idea when you get back from AZ.... maybe it could be a simple fix with orthos?
