Personal:

I decided to join to hold myself accountable for my training and because I love learning from others running experiences.  I just started running a little over a year ago and have a lot to learn.  I work fulltime as a Manager of Telecommunications for Intermountain Healthcare and go to school online through Weber State University.  If you want to know more check out my blog: www.runningfortrevor.blogspot.com

15 minutes working shoulders.

10.2 miles with 8.2 at a sustained tempo pace.  First of all not that this matters to anyone but me but I 100% anticipated doing this workout outside this morning.  The treadmill makes tempo runs very easy to plug in the pace and go to town and I wanted to see if I was capable of controlling the pace on my own.  But I woke up to 25mph gusting winds in Payson and I am just not that hardcore to attempt a tempo workout in those conditions.  Those of you that nail all of your workouts outside no matter what are truly hardcore!

Warmed up on the treadmill 1.4 mile @8:34 pace.  Switched treadmills and gradually worked into a comfortable 7:30 pace.  kept it there for the first half and then gradually increased the speed every 10 minutes.  Finished with 8.2 miles in 60 minutes - 7:20 pace.  Quick cooldown of .6mi @8:34 pace.  A good solid workout that definitely helped boost my confidence after Saturdays epic fail!

It was only slightly windy here. I made it through somehow though. So what's Saturday? And you are welcome to come run with me any morning girl. We would have fun together and challenge each other. anytime! :)

Really good bounce back workout. You are super fit, Rachelle, don't let one bad mile during a 20 mile run put a dent in your confidence!

Next week it will start being light outside until like 730pm - you can try switching some of your workouts to outside at that point. Even doing some of the shorter reps on the track would be a good change.

But I think you made the right call today - it was super windy this morning - that's why I just did my tempo last night - I didn't want to deal with the wind today. Cold is one thing, wind is just annoying.

I would hardly say that your workout on Saturday was an epic fail! Maybe a little dramatic? :o)

Great workout today...I don't blame you for staying indoors for it b/c of the wind. Maybe later this week will be better for some outside running! You think the pup could keep up with you on repeat 400s??

Haha I am not dramatic at all Andrea! :) Nothing a little fro-yo couldn't fix.

The pup is part of my problem with the PM workouts. I spend more time wrestling her than I do running. I may have to find me a pup sitter so I can get some more quality afternoon workouts in. Yesterday she scared the entire Salem Hills Track team off of the track and chased a poor little kid inside the school into the locker room. ugh! Being a dog Mom is hard!

Thanks for the positive feedback guys!
