Personal:

I decided to join to hold myself accountable for my training and because I love learning from others running experiences.  I just started running a little over a year ago and have a lot to learn.  I work fulltime as a Manager of Telecommunications for Intermountain Healthcare and go to school online through Weber State University.  If you want to know more check out my blog: www.runningfortrevor.blogspot.com

10 miles, 7:58 pace.  I haven't struggled through miles like I did today in a long time.  Energy was low, legs felt fatigued, and I just felt like I was going through the motions.  I think I am going to hold back on the shorter interval speed workouts like I did yesterday until after TOU.  They really seem to irritate my left hamstring and just probably aren't worth the recovery toll they take on my body in the grand scheme of things.

20 minutes upper body weights.

Good luck to everyone racing Park City and Hobble Creek tomorrow!!

I have been having left hammy issues since February. Ick! Don't push it too hard. I did and I am paying for it. You are going to rock TOU.

Yep I agree with you (and Scott). No point in practicing that kind of speed if there is a risk you might get hurt doing it. The risks outweigh the benefits in this case. Stick to the tempos which are a lot more important for the marathon anyways.

I haven't done a "rep" shorter than a mile this summer yet. I might be a tad slower in my ability to kick at the end of a race, but how often does that even come into play in a half or a full anyways? Usually you are just trying to stay upright :-)

Nice miles girl! Sounds like you are doing a good job listening to your body.

Good miles, smart move with the hammy. Once those things get irritated it can be hard to get rid of when training as hard as your are.

I am so paranoid of injury right now that I have done virtually no speed work since baby, but I'd rather be able to run every day and not risk injury!! Good call!!!

I second what Carina said. :) You're being smart!
