The race today kinda sucked. And so has typing up this entry!!! This is my third go at it, I had better not have to do it again. So, the race: I started out too fast and died on the last mile. Not a great one, but oh well. I need to get better at these huge, far away races. Anyway, it was fun to be at Notre Dame and run in such a big, crazy, fun race! The first place girl got 16:something. That's insane! (GT 338.8) (DD spike 80.2)

I think you had a sweet race :) only what 19 seconds off your PR which you set earlier this year?!?! Not bad!! Not bad at all!

It's great experience for you to get in a big, extremely competitive race like Notre Dame as a freshman. Every bit of experience you get now will play a part in your future development and you can take positives away from something like this. You have lots of time to get up to the level where you want to be and everything points to you getting there! If you keep a positive attitude even when an outcome is less than you'd hoped for that's probably half the battle.

Welcome to NCAA racing! Meets like this are what it's all about. Great experience as a freshman! I didn't get to run this one as a freshman, but ran it the next three years. Yeah, we always got smoked in the Blue race, but it was so fun to race with that kind of competition!

Ruth, thanks for you very nice comments. Paul hit a key word Freshman! You are such a great runner. You are getting some awesome experience right now. Keep working hard, your time to rule is coming!
