Sick of sucking. Ran crappy three times. Good thing it's over. Writing these times down is really depressing.

400m went ok - 1:03.84.

800m sucked - 2:27.24.

800m leg of medley was a tad better, still sucked - 2:25 split, 4:31 total.

1600m was a complete disaster.

Well, if it makes you feel any better, you could beat me in any race even on my best race :-D So just take all your races in stride. I bet you didn't do that bad, and there are an amazing few (and I mean few) runners that go unbeaten for any length of time. Just think about the Olympics and the trials and such. Most of those women train for four years for one race. They don't care about any other races. Other races are only run for tempo training, etc. They have "their eyes on the prize". Just like in indoor track, focus on the prize, you want to focus on the end of the season, the major races coming up, and what you need to do to peak at the right time. You put in the miles religiously. You have the fitness, now it's just honing in on your speed. Just work hard at your interval training the next few weeks and you'll get there. Use these races as a learning experience. So long as you took something away of what to do next time, then it was a worthwhile experience. Running is a lifelong learning process. heck, look at the elite runners. Even they need coaches to tell them what to do. You're doing fine, and just get psyched about the end of the year and the fun that college xc and track holds in store for you! Best of luck.

Cheers

So sorry it didn't go as well as you know you can do. You know you have faster times than that in you, just do what it takes to bring them out. Get the sleep you need. Eat right. Train hard on hard days and easy on easy days. You'll get out of the slump just fine. You aren't supposed to be peaking yet so just keep putting in the effort. I know it is so hard to focus senior year but you won't regret all the effort you put into your running.
