After a tropical summer, I forgot that rain is COLD here! So I froze on my run. It felt like my 2-hour run lasted forever! Three times I got really freaked out when the power lines right next to me crackled and sparked blue right before a huge burst of thunder came. I was sure I was done for... but no electrocution for me, thank goodness! Cold cold cold! My cold was almost gone before this run, but I guess this'll prolong it. Now for some hot cocoa to make it all better. Avg. 7:57/mi. (GT 130)

I really feel for you coming from the tropical and St. George climates to the Logan ice box. Being a USU grad I know all too well about the Cache Valley cold. You will get acclimated as time goes on but cold is still very cold especially in Logan.

Good luck to you in your first collegiate X-country and track season. I saw your name mentioned in an article on the USU website and it looks like you are already turning some heads with your skills. Great job!

Think warm thoughts. Plus, once you get cold enough, everything starts to feel warm :)

Honestly, running in 35-45 deg rain is far colder than running in snow and any temps above 20 deg. Once it is below 20 deg, though, it is a bit chilly, too. You should have seen a run we had a few years ago where one guy was in shorts and another in a t-shirt even though it was about 15 deg and windy!

You have dropped from 80 deg to 40 deg. You are halfway there (i.e. to expected low's of 0).
