It's cold up here! I got going on the run at 8 am and I was chilly for the first half of the run! I am gonna freeze come wintertime.... Anyway, I'm getting a cold and I am so congested! So, lots of snot rockets were flying. I ran out by myself up the canyon on highway 89, then ran along the river trail until it ended and ran on the road again for a while. And back. Not too bad, just a bit worn out and covered in bugs at the end. (GT 66.3)

Weekly mileage record this week! Woo!

Cold? Cold? Heck, it's unseasonable warm right now! You better get used to it quick, living in Logan now. We use it as a point of pride that we can endure the 0 deg temperatures! You'll adjust, though.

Nice job on the record miles. Let us know when you want to run together (other than today). Just wondering- did you turn around at 3rd dam and Spring Hollow campground, or did you find the singletrack leading another 1.5 miles to Guinavah Malibu? Trail head to GM is 5 miles each way. 3.6 each way if you turned around at SH.

Thanks! I think I got to Guinavah Malibu by trail, then I went onto the road and ran a mile or two on the highway again until turning around. I'm not all that familiar with the area yet, so know I went 8 miles out, and that's about it.

Most days we have practice as a team, but on Saturdays we fend for ourselves. So, on the Saturdays that I don't have races, I'd love to meet up with you guys for a run!

Yeah, we all like the river trail. Gravel, then singletrack, then gravel, then singletrack- good variety. Not too hilly. And a bit cooler than in Logan.

Cody and I are in Denver next weekend, but Paul will be around and may be up for a run. I'll be available for long runs Sept 13, 20, and 27.

But you have to take it easy on us slow post-collegiate guys...

We lost by 2 points

Cold, ha ha. I was hot yesterday morning before the race, so started stripping to my shorts and singlet early. A couple strangers (on different occasions) told me I was crazy. I gave them a funny look, and said, "You're from Salt Lake, aren't you?" Both times: "Yeah, so?"

Welcome to the frozen tundra. It only gets worse.

From Jon on Sun, Aug 24, 2008 at 18:47:31

I was laughing cause Walter was shivering at the starting line while I was warm.

I'm doomed!

From Jon on Tue, Aug 26, 2008 at 00:37:42

No, you'll adjust. That which doesn't kill you only makes you stronger.

Anyways, it's easier to train in the cold than the heat- you can always add another layer. Although the ice stinks.

From Ruthie on Tue, Aug 26, 2008 at 00:45:31

Yeah, but if it kills me... I'm dead! That would suck. ;)

From Paul Petersen on Tue, Aug 26, 2008 at 09:08:26

The cold won't kill you, but the air pollution might.

From Jon on Tue, Aug 26, 2008 at 09:16:09

Paul, you're spoiling all the surprises!
