At 4:33am (six minutes before my alarm was due to ring, grrr) I woke up, got into my warm clothes and drove to the school, then ran the Hospital 7-miler. For the first time this week, I actually felt reasonably good for most of my run. On the last mile and a half, snow flurries were coming down nice and gently, which made for a bit of fun catching them in my mouth and seeing how white my sweatshirt was getting. Avg. 7:34/mi. (DS2 291.7)

After that I lifted weights by myself. (While listening to good music! Ha!) 3x11 of LE-7, LC-10, LP-3, BP-55, SQ-80, Abs-5. Not so bad as last time. Ran a cooldown around the school barefooted - about .25 mile.

Today's workout was a good start to a awful day! Ugh. I spent 13.5 hours driving all around the community to deliver "singing valentines" to people for our choir fundraiser. My feet are killing me from wearing 4" heels all day. And the food I managed to get during the day was rather questionable and definitely bad for me. Good thing I NEVER have to do that again!!!!! And, yeah... happy Valentine's Day.

You set your alarm for 4:39?! haha Weird time, but SUPER DEDICATION. Hope you had a great Valentine's Day and way to start off the day right though.

I never set my alarm for anything that ends in a 5 or a 0. Just an odd quirk.

Ruth that is early! Great dedication, you rule. inspiration for me!

I loved doing singing valentines! Good job getting out. Are we getting a good turnout at conditioning?

From Mike Warren on Fri, Feb 15, 2008 at 00:24:04

Good thing, there are good people like you to deliver the singing valentines! You will never catch me doing that. Hey long run on Sat if your planning on it. We are meeting at my house 7 AM, 1868 N Serenity Dr. My wife is droping us on Utah Hill and running back.

From Ruthie on Fri, Feb 15, 2008 at 10:38:02

Mik'L - did you do them in the community or just the school? The school ones are fun, but the community ones grate on you. Conditioning, dunno about yesterday, but previously the turnout has been around 30? So not bad!

Mike - I'd love to, but I have our Physics cardboard boat race at 8am, so I won't have time. Have a good one, though!

From Mike Warren on Fri, Feb 15, 2008 at 13:51:10

Can you put engines on the boats?

From Ruthie on Fri, Feb 15, 2008 at 18:59:51

Sadly, no. Man powered only - paddles or arms. :(
