This year has brought on new and unexpected opportunities racing in Spartan races. I'm in love with this new challenging part of my life.

Short-Term Running Goals: I am working to become the best obstacle racer I can be. If that goes hand in hand with a National Championship title, than I will have met 2 of my goals/dreams.
Long-Term Running Goals: Another sub 3 hour marathon
Sub 1:20 half marathon
I want to complete an ironman and some ultra races.
I Hope to be running until I'm 100.
Personal: I have 2 boys (7 and 4) and a little girl (14 months) that keep me on my toes and make life worth living.. I've been married to my better half (Jim clark) for 10 years. I teach fitness classes and am a personal trainer - my 2nd love is Zumba! I love what i do!
I hold Obstacle Training Groups at my house on saturdays -I feel so blessed to be able to help others. |

Run on the treadmill - I felt bad cause I had to let my baby cry to get through the last mile. I was going insane that day cause she was super fussy all day and I had to get my frustration out. I keep kidding myself that dairy is not affecting her, but I think I'm giving in and totally getting it out of my diet (sigh). bye bye ice cream, cheese, milk, yogurt, chocolate:-(.
Later on i finally got her to sleep, and did 20 min of insanity cardio workout. whew! |

I was still getting the dairy out of my system, so another fussy day with little ivy. It got to be super emotional right around 5 pm when I was about to lose it. Ivy hadn't slept more than 20 min at a time all day, and she was super fussy, overtired, and irritable. i had spent my whole day trying to get her to sleep, and my poor boys were completely neglected. Well apparently my limit had been reached, because the Lord stepped in. At 7 pm, the young women showed up at my door with cleaning supplies in tow. They were going to clean my house and watch my kids while i took a bath! I can't even explain how much this strengthened my testimony - The Lord was the only one who knew how hard my day had been.
Well in typical fashion, i asked if they would mind if i ran instead of took a bath. I needed to get out of the house. i ran around the water tower loop, and it felt amazing! It was still 9:30-10 min miles, but that was the first run by myself since i had the baby. I will be back in shape in no time. I came back refreshed and renewed and ready to face the next day:) |

| I didn't get any exercise in today, but little ivy was soooo much better today. I officially think it's the dairy. |

Another great day with Ivy, and another beautiful run with the running stroller. I was only going to go 3, but felt great and got one more in. The weather was fabulous, and i felt so relaxed. Ivy fell asleep in the stroller, and twice in my harness throughout the day. And then she slept from 2 to 8 pm:) She has been smiling lots today, and can focus her eyes and look around. It's so fun to see her achieve these milestones.
Later did some upper body insanity. |

15 mile bike ride to leeds and back. It felt good to push my body even though it felt like my quads were now the size of peanuts! Can't wait to feel good on the bike again:) It was good to see that I hadn't lost my "nerve" to ride fast.

| Whoa! ok so my body decided to put on the brakes for me. My run felt horrible today! I was tired from the beginning, and by the end my middle back hurt as well as my ulcer area. I wanted to do 5 but was struggling to make it home at 4.5. I'm starting to rethink my level of exercise i'm pursuing already. |
