Star Valley Half Race Report
I woke up at 4 am feeling sicker than ever. I was pretty sure it was my ulcer along with pregnancy sickness, but i also had aquired a migraine as well from a pulled neck muscle. Well there was my answer! I fought myself for the next 2 hours, trying to convince myself that i d feel better once i started, but then finally remembered what i'd asked for. I'm sure heavenly father knew this was the only thing that would stop me from running it. So Im grateful for His guidance - I do see now how hard it would've been on me (and the baby) that day. That was my worst sickness day yet! The faster metabolism from the race would've have made life that much more miserable. And it was pretty warm (they started the race at 8 am) - which wouldn't have been good for my little one.
So I managed to get myself over to watch my husband and sister (first half marathon) race! I'm so proud of them. it was really hard not to be able to run in my old stomping ground, and also to see the girl's winning time be 1:37 - she won a beautiful trophy, $100, and other goodies. Pretty impressive for this small town race! I will definitely be giving it a go next year! Such a beautiful course too.
I finally researched a little, and took a prevacid and tylenol as it looks like it was safe to take. My stomach and headache eased a bit |
