According to my schedule today was a "10 mile tune up race" day.  Well I searched all over the internet and couldn't find a singe 10 mile race going on a 5:00am this morning so in regular fashion I hit the gym.  My plan was to just run a pretty fast 10 mile run at about 6:10 min/mil pace.  About 2 miles into it I decided it would be fun to do 3x5K's instead since I hadn't ran 5k strides in a while.  My first one was kind of slow since I didn't decide to run 5K's until 2 miles into it.  I did it in 21:30,  I took a 2 minute break and then ran my second one in 19:22.  Looking back through my Garmin logs the last time I did a 5K run was back in Dec. 21st of last year in 19:38 so not to shabby.  I decided to go all out on my last one and try for an 18:00.  My math was a little bit off and even at a 5:30 pace for the last mile I ended up at 18:12.  By far my fastest 5K time.

Legs feel pretty good, hope I have the legs to do my last long run of the schedule tomorrow, 18 miles over SunCrest.
