2. Don't get burn out :-) Personal:
I herniated/ruptured a disk (L4/L5) in my back in December, 2005. I told my orthopedic surgeon I wanted to start running. He said "You'll never run again.". What a challenge! So...I started running.
Since then I've lost about 50 pounds, ran 13 marathons and a number of other races.
I am still a clydesdale runner (over 200 lbs), have a large frame, big bones, and not built like a runner at all. I'm not fast. I mostly run to have some time to myself and keep in shape.

| 4 miles loop in North Logan at noon with Brent. 8:37/mile AP. Brent is doing well and improving--a lot faster than I was when I first started running. After we finished up I did another 6 mile loop with a 7:19/mile AP. 81 degrees--cooler than July. Felt good. |

| 5 miles in Logan Canyon with Claire. It started out good, but after a mile started slowing way down. We left not too long after we ate, and we both felt queasy so we cut it short. |
