AM: TEMPO

I attempted (and somewhat failed) a tempo run this morning. I wanted to go 5-6 miles at 5:05 pace. But with this being my first night in the Eastern Time Zone and the travel still in my legs, I just didn't have it this morning. I ended up with 4 miles: 5:03 5:04 5:06 5:09. Some nice reverse progression. Oh well, I should be acclimated to the new time zone here shortly.

PM: We took a break for dinner and I wasn't too hungry so I got a second run in on the hotel treadmill. I felt substantially better than this morning and got another 9 miles in with the last 3 at 5:36 5:17 and 5:00.

Still a very impressive workout. It will come

I'd hesitate to call 4 miles in 20:20 after traveling a total failure!

From Dave Olson on Tue, Dec 03, 2013 at 18:46:03 from 67.182.237.143

Nice double dude! Very impressive! and I second what Jake said. 20:20 at 4 am for your body clock is way good.

good work! hit the next workout hard. You'll be just fine. Are you still doing CIM or just gearing up for Houston next?

From RileyCook on Tue, Dec 03, 2013 at 19:18:16 from 64.134.162.74

Jake, I didn't call it a "total failure" only somewhat of a failure ;)

Dave, thanks bro. You got another great week going too!

Trevor, I am not running CIM. I will be here in Indianapolis until Dec 20th, unfortunately for work, working 12-16 hours a day. So it'll be tough getting mileage in, but I'll do what I can.

Well, at least you don't have to make that Indy trip around the Boston Marathon now, right?

You aren't missing much great running weather in Utah at the moment.

Still a great workout! And nice double!

Jake, right I don't have to go in April now. So, that's good. Another option was Jan. I'd rather miss CIM than USA Half or Boston. Plus my achilles is still acting up a bit so if I'm too busy to run some of the time out here that won't necessarily be a bad thing.

The weather here has been good, but is supposed to snow and get cold Friday I think, so then we'll all be in the same conditions. But so far I don't envy the weather you guys have had. It was 47 here this morning, though it felt colder with the fog.
