AEROBIC BUILDER

I met Ken, Hales, and Jace at the parkway to get in another early Tues morning aerobic builder.  Jace asked what pace we were shooting for and I said 5:45 avg, to which he responded, "Well I know the way back if I don't keep up."

Then during the warmup Ken told a good big foot story and afterward Jace responded with, "What was the pace again? 5:45? I can handle that, I'm not falling behind after that story!" It was pretty funny.

We ended up hitting 8 miles at a 5:43 avg.

Nice run. It's way too dark and cold out to want to run alone.

Guessing it was a false alarm on the potential stress fx? That's good news! :-)

From RileyCook on Tue, Dec 04, 2012 at 16:25:22 from 132.3.57.68

Scott: Thanks. Yeah I hate running alone in the dark and cold.

Jake: Yeah it was pretty weird. Having had 3 stress fractures before, I was like 80% sure it was a fracture (felt like bone not muscle, could feel it during the night or wake up from pain there, ice compression and ib profin didn't relieve the pain, no external bruising etc.) I felt it with every step of the day...

Then it kind of faded away, which a fracture wouldn't do. The pain started the morning after I fell on that bridge onto my left hip. So, I'm guessing that can't be a coincidence. But I don't know how I would've bruised the bone on the outer part of my right calf when I landed on my left hip.

So after a long explanation, yeah I don't know what it was, but it seems to be gone ;) Which I am super grateful for! It's times like that when you think you'll be out for 8 weeks when you truly appreciate being in good shape and health.

When are you guys going to move one of your huge group long runs up to South Davis county?

From scottkeate on Tue, Dec 04, 2012 at 16:30:06 from 192.150.9.200

I'd be game for a long run up in South Davis one of these weekends. If you can get permission from the boss, we are meeting in Orem (800 E. 1200 N.) on Saturday @ 8am. Long drive for you, but worth it :-)

When you guys cook us breakfast afterwards :-)

From RileyCook on Tue, Dec 04, 2012 at 17:00:19 from 132.3.57.68

If I have to cook breakfast afterwards, I'm out :-) Besides that would require a run in the northern most part of Davis, not South Davis.

Nothing like fear to motivate pace for a tempo run (Jace). Very glad your leg is better! Good health is definitely a great thing. I'd definitely be game for a run in South Davis one of these weekends.

The fear of being chased down by a crazy, wild animal is a powerful motivation- too bad I can't get some of that in a race! I wasn't about to get dropped today. Next time I'm inviting some slower friends.

Thanks Matt, we'll have to work out a long run sometime. I could even swing SLC probably one Saturday (meet you Utah County folks halfway).

Jace, you were rolling just fine at that pace. In fact, at the end I could tell you wanted to kick!

I'm game for that Riley (meeting 1/2 way in SLC some time for a long run). Sounds fun.
