I did a nice hike/run this AM with the family (the family started hiking and I made a deposit at the trailhead and then caught up). It was pretty slow but I was able to jog to the top of Sunset peak at 10654 ft. I then agreed to hike all the kids back down to snowbird while the other adults hiked over the top into Brighton. So the hike down was pretty slow. In the afternoon/evening I decided to take a run to the tram. I left it was nice and cool out. I felt pretty good for the first mile I was able to run the whole thing. I had 650 vert ft over that mile average pace 15 min/mile. The next mile was slower and the garmin freaked out on the elevation so not exactly sure about the elevation I think it send me down and back up 1000 feet in the second mile which didn't happen. I did have to walk some more during the second mile still a 16:50 min/mile. After about another 1/2 mile it started pouring rain. I was drenched in 1 minute. I decided I would turn around and head back. I was probably about 1 mile from the chair lift and 1.5 from the top. It was a pretty fun run though. On the way down after the downpour stopped I really loved running in the mud and the drizzle.
