Beautiful day for a run just outside of Boston.  Kept first 4 around 8:40 pace and then some jogger just started breathing on my neck for about .25 mile...I picked it up to 8min pace- still kept on my neck...down to 7:40 pace...why is this guy just tailing me? Dropped the hammer and ran 3/4 mile under 7min pace...no more breathing on my shoulder.  Guess I could have let him just pass, but my middle-aged pride was kicking in.  Ran miles 6 and 7 at an 8:40 pace...never again a sign of the breathy runner behind me.

Got up early to warm-up for a 5k.  Ran 1.6- sore and light weight shoes seemed inadquate. Shifted to training shoes and ran 5k. Started moderately, struggled on the 2nd half of mile and first half of mile three, picked it up a little bit at the end and was satisfied with my 20:13 time (official time was 20:16). I'll take it for having gotten a 50-mile week in for the first time this year. Legs were sore, but workout was solid.
