Disciplined myself to another day of rest.  Although I am finally getting sleep again, the sickness has still not gone away.  My doctor told me to take 8-10 days rest...seemed a bit extreme for strep throat, but I have taken 3 this week.  Strength is much stronger than Monday, so things are definitely improving.  Did weights at the gym today, but no running.  I'm signed up for a 1/4 marathon tomorrow (6.55)...I'll play it by ear.

Smart choice by resting. Especially if you decide to run a race tomorrow. Listen to your body in the morning it will tell you if you should run or not.

Sorry about your illness Dave. My oldest daughter was just diagnosed with streph today. We had to cancel her b-day party sleep over. I guess I better wear on a surgical mask until June. When will the illness end this season? Take care.

Kory, thanks. It's been frustrating, but I need to be smart at this stage. I was tempted to run today (prepaid), but it was 38 degrees and raining. Bad combo for trying to get better. Would have been nice to get a strong workout in a race environment, but may have paid for it.

Robert- yes, be careful. If you do get it, do so now! (jk) It's not overly painful- no headache or vomiting...just plain draining. I ignored the signs for over a week before finally getting an antibiotic. Are you tapering yet? I read you got your bq off of 40-50 miles per/week. That's probably less than what your tapering mileage will be.
