No discipline seems pleasant at the time, but painful. Later on, however, it produces a harvest of righteousness and peace for those who have been trained by it.

A little sickness on the run?

At least we're back to running marathons!

Did you slip on your own vomit? :)

Yuck...!

From rAtTLeTrAp on Thu, May 09, 2013 at 11:34:05 from 174.233.135.68

I guess I shouldn't complain. I did make my original goal for this not to be my slowest marathon ever, and I didn't slip on my vomit :)

I'm still a little disappointed with the Marathon Maniac aspect of the race. There was supposed to be a special finish tent, beverages, free hat, blah, blah, blah for the finishers wearing MM gear. Nada. Maybe I should have worn my lucky flame shirt instead of the MM shirt. I've worn that thing for every PR and BQ so far. Um, yeah, that must have been it...

Whats wrong with a 3:41:XX?

From rAtTLeTrAp on Thu, Aug 08, 2013 at 08:21:14 from 98.203.229.149

Nothing is really wrong with a 3:41. I'm just a little disappointed that about 20 minutes of it was wasted on puking and walking. I'm looking forward to a much faster finish in a few weeks. I'd like to go back to Boston next year if I can qualify and the finances work out.

Well Man, that marathons in the books, time to look forward to the next and make it the best you can!!! I've got a marathon (The Layton Marathon)here in Utah on the 31st of August and I'm hoping to get BQ for the 2014 run at Boston. Hope my training can get this tire old man over the finish line in time!!!
