Short-Term Running Goals:

Okay, so for 2013 I am going to have FUN! Not that running isn't always fun, but I had a wonderful breakthrough year last year and I want to play this year :) AND get faster! So, my first goal I'm going to put out there is my yearly mileage goal.
It is 2,186 miles from my driveway to my sister (QP's) driveway! I want to spend this year on a virtual trek cross country running those miles. So, that is how far I will run in 2013...from my house to QPs. It will take all year and yes, this is measured on Hwys so it isn't really exactly how I COULD run it, but good enough. 43 miles/week...totally doable, and a fun goal to track how far I've traveled as I go along. Who knows...maybe I'll even run PAST her house :)

I will do more trail runs, Boston, Pacing duties, another Half IM and some other tris. I'm excited for this next year and look forward to having fun with all of you out on the roads, and trails! Maybe bag a few peaks this year too!!

Long-Term Running Goals:

Big Dreams: 5K in 20:2X; 10K in 39:XX; Half in 1:29:XX; Full in 3:15:XX; complete the Rim2Rim2Rim run and not die; Comrades; Iron(wo)Man.

Run for the rest of my life!

Personal:

4 children: twelve, eight, five and baby Fartlek - 2 1/2. Wonderful supportive husband that lets me drag him and the family all over for race after race!

Finished 13 marathons and LOVE running that distance! I'm definitely hooked to the marathon monster and hope to constantly improve my endurance, speed and stay injury free!

I've also found a love of trail running! I hope to keep improving on this front.

After being injured with a broken foot at the first of 2012 I found a tri group and started training with them and am now loving tris! The half IM was harder than I'd ever imagined...and am ready to do it again. I'll earn my bike butt and someday have enough time to train for a full IM.

Nice easy long run with Kelli, Wendy and Scott. Got out before it got too hot, but I need to start bringing water with me on these warmer runs. Summer has kind of jumped down our throats and I forget how much the heat dehydrates you. Thankfully, Kelli and Wendy carried water and I bummed some off of them and drinking fountains at the lake and city hall saved me :)

AP: 9:24 splits: 9:42, 9:57, 9:15, 9:21, 9:05, 8:58, 9:07, 9:35, 9:14, 9:23, 9:29, 9:38, 9:22

I'd like to say the pace felt easy, but there were times it certainly did not. I just keep wondering when my 8:30's and 8:40 long run paces are going to come back! These legs have to recover and remember how fun it is to run soon, right?

Thanks to all for letting me tag along, it was a wonderful summer run :) I love group runs, they are SO much nicer than going alone. Running is my social hour! Thanks as well to my hubby to stayed home an extra hour so that I could get the 'long' run done on Friday so I can run the 10K tomorrow with my sister and not have to worry about getting more miles done in the HEAT. I have to be to a baptism at 9:15, so 11:00 is just too late/hot to run, and 4AM is too early!

Anybody have any good early morning runs planned for July 4th? I'd like to do 10-12, but need to be home by 8ish to get to parade land.

You should get a handheld bottle. I take mine for anything over 5 and love it. Nice run!

Scott, I was interrogating Wendy and Kelli about theirs. I almost got one yesterday at Wasatch Running, but it's a good thing I didn't - would've gotten the wrong one! I will be investing soon though, any input?

Yes. Get the Ultimate Direction. I have a Nathan as well, but the UD is much better and easier to drink on the run and it doesn't leak at all. The Nathan leaks a little and it isn't as easy to drink. I can drink with my UD and not even think about it.

A Helpful husband is great.

Let me know what you hear about the 4th. I know a couple of people doing the 5k in Provo, but that is a bit far away. A quick early morning run might wash away the guilt of all the over eating I plan to do the rest of the day.

Good luck tomorrow.

Scott, Kelli likes her camelback bottle because it's insulated. She says the UD one freezes her hand and the water gets hot fast. Any compromise in a bottle?

Bye-wing, I'm going to just run out here in the hills. The idea of KFC doesn't lead me to many thoughts of over-eating :) Unless we want to go rogue and hit Crown Burger?!?

From bye-wing on Sat, Jul 02, 2011 at 01:46:46 from 75.220.31.53

Crown burger or nothing.

You just ran a marathon a couple of weeks ago and you are already recovered! I am still trying to make my way back from April!

What 10K are you doing with your sister today?

Let me know if you have a good run early for the 4th. I might just drive over to Herriman....on second thought I am too slow to run with anyone right now! :(

From RAD on Sat, Jul 02, 2011 at 13:34:20 from 98.202.17.113

Sisters, The crown it is! We can always ship it :) It'll probably still be good.

Terri, YUM-O! A restaurant here that sells the BEST pastrami burgers in the world. Just google Crown Burger and look at images. You'll get the idea! :) When you come, I will take you.

Steam, oh DO come!! Slow? really? ummm, have you seen my paces lately? I am definitely STILL recovering! If you want 6AM is the departure time. Send me a message and I will get you my address.
