Short-Term Running Goals:

Okay, so for 2013 I am going to have FUN! Not that running isn't always fun, but I had a wonderful breakthrough year last year and I want to play this year :) AND get faster! So, my first goal I'm going to put out there is my yearly mileage goal.
It is 2,186 miles from my driveway to my sister (QP's) driveway! I want to spend this year on a virtual trek cross country running those miles. So, that is how far I will run in 2013...from my house to QPs. It will take all year and yes, this is measured on Hwys so it isn't really exactly how I COULD run it, but good enough. 43 miles/week...totally doable, and a fun goal to track how far I've traveled as I go along. Who knows...maybe I'll even run PAST her house :)

I will do more trail runs, Boston, Pacing duties, another Half IM and some other tris. I'm excited for this next year and look forward to having fun with all of you out on the roads, and trails! Maybe bag a few peaks this year too!!

Long-Term Running Goals:

Big Dreams: 5K in 20:2X; 10K in 39:XX; Half in 1:29:XX; Full in 3:15:XX; complete the Rim2Rim2Rim run and not die; Comrades; Iron(wo)Man.

Run for the rest of my life!

Personal:

4 children: twelve, eight, five and baby Fartlek - 2 1/2. Wonderful supportive husband that lets me drag him and the family all over for race after race!

Finished 13 marathons and LOVE running that distance! I'm definitely hooked to the marathon monster and hope to constantly improve my endurance, speed and stay injury free!

I've also found a love of trail running! I hope to keep improving on this front.

After being injured with a broken foot at the first of 2012 I found a tri group and started training with them and am now loving tris! The half IM was harder than I'd ever imagined...and am ready to do it again. I'll earn my bike butt and someday have enough time to train for a full IM.

Got outside again today. The waking up is the hard part now that I've tackled the cold. I was going to do an 8 mile loop, but when the alarm went of 20 minutes early I suddenly concocted a new route I've never run that would be 6-7. Perfect. Reset the alarm, went back to sleep :) Why is it that my brain seems to come up with the most brilliant ideas when it wants to sleep? I couldn't think of a 6-7 mile route I wanted to run last night for loving or money!

Uneventful morning, except that there was an ice cream cone someone had dropped on the shoulder of the road. Funny, but it was still frozen. Not melted frozen, but still in a good soft serve swirl, on it's side partially smashed frozen. Yup, it's cold.

I was surprised when I saw the TT when I hit 7 miles: 1:00:15 - wow. I didn't think I was running that fast, especially with the hill of despair in there. Those miles were slow mind you, but I didn't think the others were fast enough to make up that much. I thought I'd be closer to 1:02 or 1:03. AP: 8:36 splits: 8:54, 8:10, 8:14, 9:24, 9:35, 8:16, 7:41 - besides the warm-up first mile and the 2 nasty uphill miles I hate looks like a good 8:15ish pace, since effort was pretty equal that just goes to show the nasty uphill and how well I really perform going UP!

Went to the gym for spin class, I'd been looking forward to it all week! Good class and I got a bike in front of the fan so I wasn't a horrible sweaty mess :)

Is anybody willing to or running afternoon tomorrow? I can run at 4 in the morning or at 2PM, I hate both options, but will take 2 over 4AM in the winter. I'd love some company if anyone is willing! Just planning on 12ish.

I have practically supernatural rationalizing skills (generally in the negative direction) when more sleep is weighing in the balance. Nice run times in our fantastic inversion.

Chad, the worst part is that out here I can normally look 'over' all the inversion, but this time I'm up to my eyeballs in it! :( Even running West the air looks thick. I keep having coughing fits after I run as well. Dumb air, who needs it.

I'm glad you didn't step in the ice cream. I'd vote for 4am, but I am running at 8 with Leslie which is almost too early for her.

Nice run!! 2012 is going to be great for you.

Take the 2pm option! I don't know how you could run at 4 in the morning in this cold....I would be frozen on the side of the road like the ice cream cone! 7 in an hour is great, especially in this cold! Nice job this morning RAD!!

you're an animal Ms. RAD!

Brent, thanks. trying to work some spin back into the routine.

Nancy, you are so diehard. Especially with early morning hours - and cold!

Rachelle, gotta have a good year sometime...

Steam, I'm just about out the door - just waiting for lunch to settle; but, now I just want a nap

Slick, thanks - nothing compared to your animal, but thanks!
