Endure and persist; this pain will turn to your good. - Ovid

Therefore, since we have been justified through faith, we have peace with God through our Lord Jesus Christ, through whom we have gained access by faith into this grace in which we now stand. And we rejoice in the hope of the glory of God. Not only so, but we also rejoice in our sufferings, because we know that suffering produces perseverance; perseverance, character; and character, hope. And hope does not disappoint us, because God has poured out his love into our hearts by the Holy Spirit, whom he has given us. - Romans 5:1-5

Ran the dog around the block. Later in the morning, ran the Landfill Loop at a brisk pace. Had a slight tailwind on the way out, and headwind on the way back, but picked up the effort on the way back as well. Splits were 6:35, 6:17, 6:19, 6:05, 6:04, 5:59, 6:01, 6:00. Average pace for the entire run was 6:10/mile. Nice weather to run in, cool and overcast, but not raining.

Paul, I should join you on some of those kind of runs, that kind of pace would really help me out.

Are you still thinking of doing the common ground campus thing Saturday or does baby animals conflict? I am kind of vascillating on running it now, as I don't know if there will be any real competition and I am not familiar with the course (I hate to run courses cold with no hearing as I tend to get lost if I am out of sight of others) but if you want to do it I will as well. Turns out they are offering both a 5K and 10K- the 10 K is just two loops of the 5K! It might be a good tuneup for my race in SLC next week. well, just let me know if you will be there, if you will I will for sure, if you aren't I might anyway. Scott

Red - I'm planning on doing the 5K, as long as it's not pouring rain. If we get there early, we can run the course as a warmup, to get familiar with it. Are you interested in carpooling?

Paul- great, I will be happy to pick you up- are you up for an easy run after the race to cool down, or do you need to get home right away? If you have time we could run from USU up the river trail and back (8 miles) which would give us 14 with the warmup and the 5K, or something else if the snow is still bad up there. Thanks, I am looking forward to it! Scott

Red - my time schedule is pretty flexible, so yeah, that warmup and cooldown sounds good.
